Kavanagh, Co-Host A
consummate political observer, Jack Kavanagh has hosted California Capitol Review
since its first broadcast in 1995. He is a two-time Emmy Award winner
who has covered California politics since 1980, a two-time recipient of
the Award for Excellence in Television Coverage of Politics from the Center
for California Studies at CSU Sacramento and a columnist for Political

Melissa
Crowley, Co-Host/Producer California Capitol Review Co-host
and Producer Melissa Crowley, a two-time Telly Award winner, enters her second
season with the Capitol Review team. Prior to KVIE Melissa served as the chief
live reporter and weekend anchor for FOX News in Nashville and covered Vice
President Al Gore's announcement for President. Before that she was a morning
anchor and reporter at KJAC in Texas, covering the Texas governor's race between
George Bush and Ann Richards. Melissa also worked at KPRC in Houston and interned
at CNN in Washington DC. Melissa also received the Humane Society of The United
States certificate of achievement for her investigation exposing poor conditions
at animal dumping bins in Rutherford County, TN. Melissa is a 1992 journalism
graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
Pamela
Turse, Associate Producer Pamela is in her
second year with California Capitol Review. One of the segments she produces
is Time Capsule, which reviews California's political and social history.
Prior to her work at KVIE, Pamela was a communications major at Quinnipiac
College in Connecticut where she directed the news for the campus television
station. While attending, she also produced an hour-long discussion program
on AIDS Awareness for which she received the Harvey Bacque Scholarship
Award. She also edited two NCAA commercial spots for the Madison Square
Garden Network, as well as promotional videos for her college. You can

Jennifer
Fischer, Reporter/Producer
- Jennifer Fischer joins California Capitol Week this season as a reporter/producer.
For the last few years, Jennifer was a reporter and website producer for
the NBC-affiliate in Palm Springs, conducting live field reports for three
newscasts daily. She has covered events such as presidental campaign trips
to Riverside County made by Vice President Al Gore and Governor George
W. Bush. Before that, Jennifer was a field producer for KNBC, Los Angeles.
Jennifer has a B.A. in communications from California State University,

Vito
Sgromo - Contributor, Time Capsule In 1978,
Vito Sgromo completed his B.A. in History and Art Education from King’s
College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He graduated with a M.A. in Museum Studies
and Art Education from the University of Arizona in 1981. From 1981-1983,
Vito worked as a Curator for the Wyoming Historical Society in Wilkes-Barre,
PA. Upon completion of his M.A. in Art History, Vito was offered a permanent
position at the California State Capitol Museum as Registrar. Over the
next 12 years, Vito Sgromo worked at three different positions at the
Capitol Museum and was promoted to Curator in 1994
